Wenning’s Wedding Tip Wednesday

When allocating funds for your wedding budget it is important to educate yourself on all things wedding related. This way clients and vendors have the same basic knowledge and communication issues can be avoided.

Pre-Planning

Organizing the components of your wedding from most to least important aids in allocating funds to the proper areas that will help compile a budget outline. Researching several options for your wedding is a good idea when hiring companies and vendors. This allows you to better understand all of your options and to see all there is to offer.

Allocating Funds

The main parts such as Entertainment, Photography and Videography should not be skimped on because those can affect the outcome of your wedding the most! Allocating funds for these after you secure your Venue will guarantee that you get exactly what you are looking for. Doing this will also help put the rest of your budget into perspective. Once you narrow down your list of vendors, you may get stuck deciding between two options. One option might be exactly what you are looking for and the other option is less expensive. There are several things you can do to avoid choosing something for your wedding because it is the cheapest option.

For example, if you have to choose between a professional DJ and a hobbyist DJ for $700 cheaper, this may be more noticeable of a difference. The quality of the services you book for your wedding reflect the price more than a tangible item. Each product has a set price and several factors that go into the price of a service which can alter the price. So, be aware of this when allocating funds in your budget. This does not mean you have to settle! Scraping a few hundred dollars off of things like flowers, decorations, or even the cake can help cover costs for other areas. This can add up quickly! Guests will NOT notice a difference of a couple hundred dollars saved in flowers, decorations, linens and more. But everyone will notice and unprofessional entertainer or photographer. This knowledge will help you decide where to adjust your budget to allocate for what you truly desire for your wedding!
