Wenning’s Wedding Tip Wednesday

Your wedding day is quickly approaching which means it is time to get the save the date announcements out to your friends and family! There are a ton of creative ways you can personalize your bridal shower. This week we are going to focus on how to include your style and personality in the save the date and invitations for your bridal shower.

Planning Tips

Your Maid of Honor will most likely have put together a wonderful afternoon/evening to honor your pending nuptials. When it comes to preparing for this day you want to be sure to have some input. Alternately, you also want to try to sit back and enjoy what your friends and family have put together for you. No guests should be invited to your Bridal Shower that you have not invited to your wedding. Traditionally, bridal showers are an intimate affair with close female friends and family. But depending on your theme and venue you may be considering going off of the beaten path.

Let’s go with the Rule of 2 for initial planning steps. Try to plan to have your invitations out to your guests about 2 months before the shower date. This way everyone can be sure to clear their schedule and have plenty of time to make adjustments if necessary. That being said, it is probably wise to try and have your bridal shower about 2 months before the Big Day. This way hopefully you will not feel overwhelmed with all of tasks that you have to complete the month before the wedding. If you give yourself some added time to breath you can enjoy your events more!

Creative Ideas

If you already have a theme you want to stick with it may make your choosing your invitations a little easier. There are so many creative ways to share your announcement with your guests. Why not consider printing the details on a balloon to send to send out? This way, when they receive the balloon and blow it up they have all of the details they need for your event. They also have a balloon to celebrate the upcoming bridal shower!

Another cool add-on to this ideas is creating a list of “Favorites” for the bride to be. Have your guests do a scavenger hunt as something fun and different. With their list of favorites, have them take a photo with the save the date balloon you sent at one of your favorite locations. Afterwards, they can post the photo online using the wedding hashtag you created. This can turn into a really cool game or giveaway when it comes to your shower date also!

Feel the Love

Planning your wedding can be both stressful and the most fun you experience in your life. Many activities are done with the companionship of those who know and love you and want nothing but the best for the happy couple. Remember during all of the fun and sometimes madness to take a moment and soak it all in. Remember, this is one of the most important times in your life!
