Pre-Wedding Logistics

There are important aspects to keep in mind when inviting people to be members of your bridal party.

All month long we will be discussing tips for selecting your Bridal Party to help make one of the most important decision about your wedding.

This week we discuss:

  • When to ask your wedding party to participate
  • Uncover the average cost of being a bridesmaid/groomsman
  • Understanding it is ok for someone to decline your request

It is recommended that you give at least 8 months notice, to someone participating in your wedding party. Longer if the wedding is destination, when possible.

We should mention that the average cost to be a bridesmaid/groomsman is anywhere from $1,000 – $2,000. If funds are an issue, perhaps you need to reconsider who you are asking to participate.

Keep in mind someone is allowed to decline your request. There are a number of factors that could prevent someone from fully committing such as: work, children, distance, health issues or financial difficulties. All of which are valid reasons.
