Wenning’s Wedding Tip Wednesday

The aspect of a wedding that couples tend to overlook because they don’t participate in it is, the cocktail hour. This is a very important part of the wedding and today we will providing considerations that you need to think about.

The cocktail hour is a place for everyone to get together as soon as the wedding ceremony is over. Here the guests will able to enjoy some finger foods along with having some beverages as they wait for your grand entrance. During this time, you want to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible as they wait patiently. However, this doesn’t mean just throw everyone in a room and make them wait, make sure that they are still enjoying their time.

The first big thing to consider is, where are you having this cocktail party? It is okay to make people drive to the cocktail hour, but we recommend that you make it as close as possible to the ceremony. Making people drive long distances may hurt your attendance rate as those people might just go home that don’t want to do that.

Keep in mind that everyone just sat through the whole ceremony and probably arrived too it on an empty stomach. Don’t make the guests wait a long time for them to get their hands on some snacks and beverages to keep them occupied. The longer you make the guests wait, the more alcohol will be consumed which may cause a problem by the end of the night.

At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you enjoy one of the best days of your life. Make sure that your guests feel comfortable and that they aren’t waiting around to long. Driving a decent distance for the cocktail hour is also probably not a good idea and should try to find something closer.
