Wenning’s Wedding Tip Wednesday

The aspect of a wedding that couples tend to overlook because they don’t participate in it is, the cocktail hour. This is a very important part of the wedding and today we will providing considerations that you need to think about.

The cocktail hour is a great time for everyone to come together and start celebrating. Some considerations that the bride and groom have to think about are, what snacks and drinks they will be providing. Even though they are not participating in this, it is important to occupy your guests as long as possible till you make your grand entrance. Make sure you don’t keep them waiting too long or you can expect some impatient guests.

While you are most likely taking photos still, your guests are back at the venue and they’re hungry. A lot of your guests probably skipped lunch because of the ceremony. You need to be able to have some hors d’oeuvres passed around. Another great idea is to have a small plate station where guests can help themselves to some finger foods.  Make sure there is something for people to snack on, because they likely haven’t had a chance to stop to get food on the way.

The next thing to take in consideration is the alcoholic beverages. Make sure that they are able to grab a drink easily and enjoy their time. However, the longer you make them wait for the reception party, the more they will consume. You don’t want to many people out on the dancefloor too early because they’ve drank a little too much chardonnay.

Enjoy your special day and make sure that the guests are enjoying their time as well. Don’t let your guests wait around to long for your big arrival especially if they had to travel for it. For more tips and tricks about weddings make sure to check out the links below.
