Danielle is a licensed and professional makeup artist in the Pittsburgh area. Danielle’s biggest tip would be to take care of your skin! It is your biggest organ and it needs special care! Especially during stressful times like when planning a wedding. It is a good idea to start your skin care regime right away!

Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize

As soon as you wake up in the morning, Danielle says it is best to ALWAYS cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin every day. Cleansing will get rid of any dead skin cells that might clog your pores. Doing this will help keep breakouts at bay. Toning afterwards tightens and reduces the look of your pores so your makeup will go on smoothly. Moisturizing is one of the most important things you can do for your skin! Keeping your skin hydrated will give you a youthful and supple glow naturally. Danielle also suggests using some type of exfoliation and/or mask once or twice a week. Depending on your skin type, this will greatly help any problems you may have. It is also crucial to keep your skin clean and moisturized at night as well. Your skin regenerates at night so you want it free of dirt and makeup so your pores won’t get clogged. Repeating your morning routine at night will be beneficial as well.

Dress your skin with makeup colors that compliment your skin tone! The wrong shade of foundation will not look right even with a clear complexion underneath. Experiment with different types of makeup several months before your wedding to see which colors and brands you like best. It is important not to experiment with makeup too closely to your wedding day because there are risks for irritation when using new products.
