Don’t become paralyzed by numbers! Do your research, choose your vendors wisely, and avoid an analysis paralysis!

When looking to hire vendors for your wedding, a big problem many people face is the cost analysis paralysis. This happens when the numbers come flying at you from vendor after vendor and you have no idea what any of them mean. Before you get in way over your head, take time to stop and figure out the numbers.

The first step in this process is to do your research. Often times, couples will pick a vendor, a DJ for example, based solely off of price. This is not the way to go. Professional DJs are definitely more expensive to book than hobbyist and part time DJs, without a doubt. However, you should research the vendor first to see if they align closely to what you are looking for. It’s important to not settle based solely on price, but rather baed on style and preference. After you pick the DJ hat best suits your wedding reception, they you should figure out pricing. This process can be applied to venues, caterers, bakeries, and any step in between. Don’t let the numbers get to you.

Another point is to do your research on websites, like the Knot or Wedding Wire, and stay educated so you know the right questions to ask. Vendors will be throwing numbers at you, but what is really important is that they meet the expectations you are looking for. Be sure to find the vendors that meet your reception expectations. Don’t get caught in an analysis paralysis! Do your research, ask questions, and make the right decisions!
