Wenning’s Wedding Tip Wednesday

If you’re shopping for vendors, you’re bound to come across one with a lack of transparency. Wherever you go, there are good eggs and bad eggs. More than likely, this is your first wedding and you’ve never had to deal with event vendors before. That means it’s vitally important for you to do your research to determine what makes a good vendor, or you’ll be left with that bad egg! This week’s tip is all about a lacking vendor transparency!

Where is the Vendor’s Meeting Place?

Are they proud to show off their offices? Do they have a place that you can meet besides the Starbucks on the corner? Now, you can’t fault businesses that don’t need a standalone office. However, some businesses should. Observe this vendor and if they try to hide the fact that they lack one. They could be hiding even more information.

What does Vendor Transparency look like?

In your meeting, whether on the phone or in-person, are they answering your questions directly? Could you say that they are “an open book,” explaining all their pricing details and any future fees?

Or…are they holding back? Are they beating around the bush? Maybe they are pivoting from your question immediately and only discussing what they feel they want to disclose. Write down all your questions beforehand to avoid being carried away into their sales pitch. If you end the conversation without all your questions being answered, it might be time to move forward with a different option.

Happy Holidays!

With that, we here at Wenning Entertainment want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! Take this time to enjoy those around you and reflect on all the positive moments of the year. Now you can look forward to a happy married life and hopefully a covid-free wedding reception!
